We consider places where other people prepare the food "Fast food" and consider it different than grocery bought because we have no control over the ingredients used.
In America, fast food places like to put in whatever the Food and Drug Administration allows them to so long as there is a "profit" to be made. This is inherently terrible because it doesn't allow us to know if we're eating literal cow shit or an actual chunk of meat due to how many chemical concoctions exist that can replicate the feeling and taste of meat.
At least, that's my take. Grocery bought beef may be full of growth hormones and literal bullshit, but we can at least cook it without feeling like we're secretly eating semen.
