No other state has even close to as many top tier cheese producers as Wisconsin. I don't even know what other state could plausibly be considered competitive. Vermont and Upstate New York make some good cheddar but they don't have nearly the breadth of quality styles and producers. Other states have plenty of scattered good cheesemakers but non really have much of a high tier cheese industry
