I had high hopes for Almanac's new IPAs given how great their sour program is, but this was just okay. The "hazy" description on the label is misleading. This is a smooth, low IBU West Coast style IPA that just hasn't been fully filtered. If I'm getting a beer with West Coast flavor, I'd rather have it fully clear and crisp. I just can't really appreciate the mouth feel of unfiltered West Coasts like this one and the recent Pizza Port.
It still hits hard at over 8% and is easy enough to drink. There is decent tropical hop flavor and no bitterness. I still won't buy it again.
