I had apparently never tasted cilantro before a couple of years ago, when a buddy and I stopped in to check out Mr.Miguel’s, a new Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood (Ryan, north of 11 Mile Rd in Warren MI).

I ordered a wet burrito and when I took the first bite, it was disgusting and tasted like fucking soap and I thought maybe the plate still had soapy water on it from the dishwasher but before I bitched about to the waitress, my buddy pointed out that it had cilantro all over it.

I choked it down, as it wasn’t the restaurant’s fault but now I will always ask if something has cilantro on it.

(also, I’ve renamed the restaurant Soapy Miguel’s)
