I mean, domesticated animals definitely reap some benefits from human stewardship. In the wild, an animal that gets stuck, sick, injured, etc is FUCKED. And I mean long term agonizing fucked up. A domesticated livestock animal who has their tool using big brained symbionts at their beck and call can get all kinds of fucked up and they will get treatment or culled to end their mortal suffering.
