Not the worst cut I've ever seen. What stands out to me other than the shitty marbeling is the dinky-ass spinalis or cap of the steak which is, in my opinion, the best part of the entire cow. Also, that huge piece of fat on that NY strip would have been trimmed by a respectable butcher.

I personally prefer charcoal grill to pan sear/oven, but it's easier to fuck up if you haven't practiced with the grill

My favorite is a nice ribeye, medium rare. I prefer charcoal grilled, pic related.

I almost always make a potato side dish and i try to mix it up with the other side. Last time it was scalloped potatoes and mushrooms sauteed in balsamic, worchestershire and garlic
