OP, get a flat metal spatula. Scrape the shit out of the pan while you cook. This is the real secret to getting cast iron to work right. The flat metal spatula will help even out the surface. If your pan is really super rough, sand it first and season once more. Otherwise stop worrying about seasoning. Just wipe with a bitta oil after use and leave it on the stove to dry.
