You should get a duck just once and try it, anon. Treat yourself.
They are a traditional holiday food in my country so they go on sale a couple times a year but even if you have to pay a lot more than I do when I fill the freezer you really should have a go at least once.

Roasted duck stuffed with apples and prunes.
Pickled red cabbage, boiled potatoes as well as caramelised potatoes on the side. Lovely gravy from the drippings of course.
It's what we usually have to celebrate His birthday.

You can also make some nice chicken or duck dishes that use a lot of lemon.
Canard a l'orange works fine with lemons instead of oranges. The Man doesn't want you to know this.

I put mine inside a duck and cooked him. Then put him in coarse salt for a year.
He still worked fine, though.
