the oil money is actually a bad thing and most of those maps use pre-boom statistics. it brought in tons of shitty people from out of state so crime has gone up, there's a housing shortage and the cost of housing has gone way up, oil money has caused retarded inflation, and people now have slow traffic jam laden commutes. in north dakota. so glad my state is still irrelevant as can be.
