I always thought the worst part was making the record out of gold. A rare and very useful metal that proves out planet has it as a harvestable resource. But yeah, the gold record is basically the stellar equivalent of doxxing yourself.

I know i'm assuming a lot here but wouldn't them travelling through space (an area filled with radiation) make us choosing to do deadly things just because we can, understandable?
Maybe even relatable? Again, assuming but I get the feeling if there are little green men, they probably poison themselves for fun too.
