how many fell for this meme? I did, until I pressure cooked my stock and it only improved, no "off flavors" to be found, while I never skimmed anything. Come to think of it, why does stock being "clear" even fucking matter? No one even knows why, they just repeat the clarity meme like robots. Everything tasty is opaque desu.

I can't find real domestic evoo anywhere, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Everything is an unspecified "mix" from a bunch of corrupt euro countries. I saw california on a bottle and thought "finally" then I saw global blend. Fuck this shit.
Then I tried avocado oil for the high smoke point and it started smoking like crazy at 400F. Probably not real either. Has it all just been soybean oil the whole time?

Wait, hold on. Is this implying that OP can't tolerate MEAT without slathering it with sugary sauce so he can "force it down"? Meat is fucking delicious wtf, our ancestors would spend all day hunting just so they could gorge on it. It's meant to taste good on its own with just salt pepper and a nice sear. Add good spices and it's fucking great.

I have to hand it to the french for this one, they got so many fucking people to waste their time skimming their stock to make it "clear", literally just a flex for people who show that their chefs had time to waste. The "off flavors" meme is a great touch to finish it off, just magnificent.

The funny thing is that almost any vaguely reasonable diet will work. Want to eat mostly fish and nuts with some grains? Sure! Eat lots of meat and potatoes with veg? Sure! Add in lots of rice like the japs do? Sure.
The body is normally really good at giving you hunger and satiety signals to keep you at ideal weight, adjusting for physical activity and even inducing it (studies show that when you eat extra calories, you'll tend to unconsciously fidget more to help burn them off).

The only thing you can't do is shovel endless amounts of hydrogenated vegetable oils and refined empty carbs down your throat, adding in some super-concentrated sugar water cut with acid just enough to fool your tastebuds into not rejecting it, all engineered with strong incentives to be addicting and bypass normal satiety triggers. And then continue this for years on end as you slowly balloon ever larger
Like wow how could that go wrong?! Nutrition is so hard guys, we'll never understand it!!
