I just wanted to know what I was buying, but judging from their facial expressions and tone, the waiters probably thought I was being the jerk. How about just having clear menus

Sad to see this even on /ck/. This is what happens when social changes are forced by big corporations and government. If people's attitudes must change, take it more gradually. All this does is cause polarisation that spreads even into non-political realms like a cooking board. Please, stop.
