The only KFC nearby is entirely staffed by nogs. I walked inside 3 years ago and it was the nastiest restaurant I've ever been inside of. As soon as I opened the door I was greeted with an immense rotten odor emanating throughout. There was garbage on the floor in front of the counter and on/under tables. The trash cans in the lobby were overflowing and had flies around them. The drink station was in complete disarray and coated with congealed soda. The kitchen area was visibly caked in grease and also had trash strewn about. They had the chicken buckets sitting on a prep table right next to an overflowing trash can with chicken bones peaking out the top. Their sink was completely filled with extraneous cooking instruments that looked like they hadn't been washed in weeks. One of the workers was picking at her weave with her 3" long fingernails. It was revolting, I'd hate to see their bathrooms. I saw that they had a 93 health rating before I walked out. I've worked in a couple of restaurants here so I know that the health inspectors were giving them a pass because they are all nogs as well. I sent an email to KFC corporate and the only reply I got back was "we'll look into it". I looked at online reviews that told much of the same story. I talked to a coworker a year or so ago that thought they had gotten salmonella poisoning from going through that KFC's drive-thru, but had already disposed of their reciept/food and had called the store to complain afterwards. The manager brushed them off and hung up. Amazingly they're still in business.
The only fried chicken joint I bother with is a Popeye's that's 30 minutes away, because it's much cleaner and I've never had any issues with the staff.
