sometimes cultures just get fixated on their particular flavors and cant break out of it, like Indians. Yeah there's different stuff but the whole cuisine has an abundance of a handful of different spices/herbs. Jap food has a similar problem, putting eel/squid/mayo on their pizza. Everything has soy sauce mirin dashi miso etc. It's all especially apparent when they try to make food from other countries and end up sneaking their shit into it, it's like if an American went to a tapas bar in Barcelona and took a bottle of ketchup
