Look, a clay or ceramic teapot is for serving the tea, not heating it. It was not meant to be placed over fire or an element to conduct heat to the water. Do you think that the little teapot you get at the Asian restaurant was set on a stove? No, it's merely a delivery device not unlike a pitcher for beer. Use a steel teapot, or a cooking pot to heat your water, then make the tea in your little craft thing there. It's for pouring tea, not heating water.
