All of the food I cook tastes like ass with the exception of pasta+ground beef, eggs, and throw things in slowcooker and come back 8 hours later dishes. These are literally the only things I can make that taste palatable.

I followed an "Asian" flavor baked chicken recipe last night and the rice vinegar for the sauce was just so overbearing, it tasted and smelled like sour ass. My simple banana pancakes tasted like burned ass. My steel cut oats looked like pig slop. Etc etc

Are some people just not made to cook?

My friend told me he doesn't know how to cook so he just puts a few pounds of meat in the oven until it looks fully cooked and then it's that for a week.

Damn I just started learning how to cook a couple months ago but I guess there are adults out there who are even worst than me

Kind of unrelated but oh well.

>bought family a specialty pack of bratwursts at a local butcher shop.
>hand picked myself the cuts of meat, they ground and stuffed brats in tasty casings.
>bring them over to family, they offer to grill them up for me while I lurch aboutt.
>reluctantly hand over brats, pace about back and forth eyeing them unwrap my tasty morsels.
>Walk over and see my aunt poking the shit out of the brats with a giant fork
>the brats let out a devastating squeal as the juices erupt from the crackling casings and leak precious fluids all over the grill.
>mass flame ups and nasty chars everywhere
>see cut up brats sliced on the bias
>a few are cut in half.
