this board has seriously gone downhill. the shill threads that used to be pruned by 25 replies are a bit more covert and last days, but they're still equally as obvious as the ones 3 years ago. i see at least 5 not even checking the catalogue, just hitting the load more button once or twice. the political agenda is ridiculous, almost all of my posts are deleted for shit as silly as "harsh language" or "hateful speech". what does that even mean, jannies? we're allowed one thread per board to discuss board matters, so if this thread gets wiped immediately it'll just be furthering my point: that noone "in charge" of this fucking place has any idea how it came to be, nor has been here very long.

why don't we have a sticky yet? /fit/ has one. why don't we have a simple food safety/knife skills/recipes sticky of our own? it's long due. yeah yeah cooking is an art and all but there's also a lot of dumbass threads that are usually qtddtot-type single searchable questions.

so, in this thread, voice your complaints, and post pics of things you've cooked recently. i haven't used my phone's camera to take pictures in the past year because it has trash quality, so have a pic of some random food served on an antler instead. if this is still up tomorrow by some miracle i'll keep it alive with whatever i happen to be cooking/eating.

what happened to our captchas? can i get a real answer anywhere? does 4chan get some kind of commission for us solving them, like i've been sure they have been for years? or is it just incentive for "4chan gold pass" which started as a joke and scam?

Yes but only city hipsters and trendy restaurants, not the masses.

Most real chefs focus on the food, they have confidence in their creations and don't necessarily want a "gimmick" getting the way of that, nor do they feel it's needed.
Unfortunately, gimmicks do drive sales pretty well... and hipsters LOVE shit like mason jars and shovels that remind them of their grandparents or something.
