Okay these come across to me as a meme Bong food.

"Ooh tea and crumpets" etc.

But I finally actually got to try one.
They're superior to toast in every way. Even solely with butter they're heavenly. With their crusty, chewy exterior hiding a soft lattice that soaks up butter, why aren't crumpets more popular?
