That's always been my thought as well. I work in healthcare and will pretty regularly have a patient who drinks astonishing amounts of beer.
Two crates of 30 bottles each is not uncommon at all. That's twenty liters of beer. (about 5 gallons I think)
I understand that alcohol tolerance can be built up, but that's just so much fucking liquid. I can't imagine drinking half that amount in water even.

Of course, some of the liquid stays in the body as oedema and ascites etc. but you can't just pour gallons of it in there every day. Amusing stuff for sure.

Sorry I don't have anything to actually contribute to your thread, OP. I'll be doing some mead later this Summer, though. First time as well.

Murphy's Stout is great. When I want light I go for Boddington's Pub Ale.
