You don't even have to. Leave it like in your photo, and it will have ZERO effect on your food. Some people buy pans to specifically cover them in the substance that only accumulates around the rivets of stainless pans.

Why is it that whenever I see some cook-tuber using carbon steel, the entire pan is always blackened, including the handle, but whenever I see a real chef using carbon steel, it looks like pic rel? How important really is the seasoning?

when did you realize carbon steel is the superior hipster pan and better than cast iron?
>barely talked about compared to ci
>same fuzzying over seasoning and care as ci
