You see, he's probably an Ameritard, where family life and culture doesn't integrate well into the late-capitalist society at large. If you're going into a booze shop, (in American) it's assumed that you're getting shitfaced with cheap booze or you're an alcoholic, and that the booze shop is located near a gas station, and it's run by brown people who barely speak your language. It's just a venue to exchange money for alcohol, nothing more.
He can't even imagine that there are wine and liquor stores that are family-friendly, with cozy interiors and smiley vendors, located just on Main street, a few blocks away from your kid's kindergarten. And they don't carry fireball.
