GD 8, GD 12, and their high-end Barrel Select are the same whisky, just at different ages. GD 8 is ~6 years, GD 12 is ~8 years, and GD BS is 10 years. Given that there is only a three-dollar price difference between 8 and 12, everything I've heard from people IRL and online is that GD 8 is entirely skippable and to just stick with GD 12. It's actually a very strange price scheme, almost like they made a mistake (in our favor). Observe:
