>Decide on great Chinese buffet
>Get seat in solarium even though sun down
>Place has this killer seafood fritters and salt/pepper squid
>Haven't been here for like a year and looking forward to eat
>Notice smoke outside coming from a car
>Nobody in it and engine not running
>Smoke intensifies and open flames
>Car is right near solarium
>Chinese girl trying to evacuate restaurant
>2 hour ride in rural back roads so nowhere to go once outside town
>Grab takeout trays and load them down with squid, fritters, shrimp egg rolls, and teriyaki chicken thighs
>Car is fully on fire and everyone watching
>Could have taken the register
>Go outside and 360 into the car with two bulging Chinese takeout plates and handful of chopsticks and duck sauce
>Stop down the street for gas and Cokes and to watch the fire engine put out the fire
>Wife feeds me Chinese food with chopsticks while I drive in the dark
>It was one of the best meals ever and we now ritually get Chinese food on day before Christmas Eve since then.
