The classic midwest accent is the general American accent. Or do you mean a Chicago, Minnesota or Yooper accent? english breakfast is just so homogeneous, where a "full breakfast" is the same thing even in ireland. same exact shit, done the same exact way. at least in america, there's a great deal of variance in what you would get for breakfast, to the point where most cities have at least one restaurant that serves only breakfast/brunch/lunch.

oh there are subtle differences between english, scottish and (Irish) Ulster "full breakfast" fry up platters, though. Mostly potato and bread differences, and bacon or white sausage switchouts. What I admire about the full breakfast is the roasted tomato and mushrooms. Welcome on any breakfast tomato, as far as I'm concerned, and there is certainly not as interesting in American breakfasts as the spices and texture in white pudding.

I love rye toast. It's the best! But, omg, the sourdough rye in bavaria and sour cherry or apricot jam, even better.

They will proudly give their uneducated opinion on anything and are the ultimate armchair critics.

Their genetic self-confusion is so dire that the word 'cuck' immediately resonates with them in any given discourse. Their understanding of the history of the world and its ideas has come from Wikipedia articles and their own state propaganda.

Their 'culture' is a fabrication made by Hollywood Jews to entice their youth with cowboy and soldier genres to serve their military industrial complex to work and die for Israel. 'Tradition' for them is stuffing themselves to the gullet with high-fat high-sugar foods and securing some shitty office 9-5 office or manual labor job enough to afford healthcare for their heart surgeries and medication.

Are you high? We're the #4 producer in the world by volume, it's crazy that we can't make affordable good wine.

The problem is we dump all our subsidies into GMO corn and beef, while ignoring all other agriculture. Whereas European wine production gets heavy subsidies and they end up overproducing every year. They can therefore be very picky about what ends up getting sold, so that even after they get first pick and export what they consider garbage, what ends up over here is still quite a bit better than our so-called competition at the same retail price point.

Sometimes a little government intervention is ok, let's not let the perfect be the enemy of the good. The problem is corrupt campaign finance and lobbying cause things to derail so badly that it makes a mockery of what the intervention was originally supposed to do, which was prevent famines

This is an absurd analogy
What does using the terms "appetizer" as a pre-entree shared snack, and "entree" as the main course possibly have to do with black people? I barely even know any black people and it is quite likely they use these terms in the same way as most english speakers, but II find it pretty unlikely this originated with them

The large majority of English speakers regardless of race understand those words to mean that.

Refusing to use words properly, and furthermore being pedantic about it and telling everyone they are actually wrong is just dumb. You obviously have never spent any time studying linguistics. Keep in mind that language is not a static thing, very many words do not mean the same thing they did 200 or 500 years ago

If thats how the majority of people use the term then sure.
Of course in your example it is not, and those are words poor people or teens use and are very much not how the majority speak

Quite unlike the example of Entree and Appetizer where people of all classes use them identically in that sense
>when you go to a restaurant that is not Applebee's and order an "entrée", and then complain on Trip Advisor that the portions were too small.

Do you guys speak in Shakespearean English? Or Middle English? Or Early English?
Which is the proper way to do it?

Do you use fake English rules like not ending sentences in prepositions? or refusing to split infinitives?

Insisting a word means something that no one uses it to mean is not helpful

>not ending sentences in prepositions? or refusing to split infinitives?
Those are terrible examples because even if they were legitimate errors in grammar, there's no chance of a sentence being misconstrued. Whereas "entree" means a small first course, unless you are 400 pounds and you get an anxiety attack over the idea of a multi course meal, in which case it means a hamburger with a side of cheese fries and a side of tater tots. This isn't about being "fancy" or "good manners", it's claiming red is green and 2+2=5.

No matter how many times you insist this to be true on the internet, its not how people use the term

Almost all restaurants, both good and bad use the term appetizer for something you get to share first, and entree for the main course (then desert for afterwards of course).
There just is not the opportunity to be misunderstood here,

again, your example is a not very common regional usage. You are really bad at this. If you go to the vast majority of English speakers and ask for a coke, they specifically think you are referring to Coke. Now if there ever comes a time when most speakers use the term as such, it will indeed become the proper way to do it (though that seems rather unlikely)

Also, keep in mind that southern american english pronunciation is the closest to colonial era English in England, so if you really want to be proper you should try to speak more like them
