Are you high? We're the #4 producer in the world by volume, it's crazy that we can't make affordable good wine.

The problem is we dump all our subsidies into GMO corn and beef, while ignoring all other agriculture. Whereas European wine production gets heavy subsidies and they end up overproducing every year. They can therefore be very picky about what ends up getting sold, so that even after they get first pick and export what they consider garbage, what ends up over here is still quite a bit better than our so-called competition at the same retail price point.
