So, seeing as everyone here is raging on about soy, I may as well talk about it. Properly. An actual discussion about food. Here's my honest, meme-free opinion on soy:
Soy is literally just a kind of bean. It also has lots of phytoestrogen in it. Plant estrogen. For plants. No studies have properly attributed soy consumption to low testosterone in the average male.
Why has there been such a massive influx of beta-males obsessed with their soy diets? Well, because these people are mostly inherently beta, which has resulted them in adopting leftist views, which has spurred an obsession with alternative diets (i.e. vegan, soy) to bash the fash. Many of them replace a lot of their meals with soylent, which isn't even nutritious enough to support a working body. These nu-males also don't get out much for exercise, and therefore end up physically weak as fuck. They also aren't accustomed to the intricacies of social interaction, and therefore adopt the "fear grimace" in an attempt to fool others into thinking they have any semblance of personality.
Should we still use the term "soy boy"? I say yes, but as a term to describe leftist cucks who are unhealthily obsessed with this simple bean.
Thoughts? Anyone want to further discuss the obsession people have with this bean?

I knew about Soylent years ago because of the Lesswrong cult.

How it got any kind of following in the mainstream is beyond me; everything about it, all of its optics, is just so faggy. Drinking jizz-colored nutritional slurry so you don't have to spend 2 minutes making a sandwich - that's what the product offers. People as autistic as Lesswrong might be into that, sure, but regular people?

Maybe it just goes to show that most people are simply cattle who follow trends.

There is a legitimate concern in the medical and scientific community about the long term effects of xeno and phyto estrogens on the human body, and the declining fertility rates among males in modern western countries. This is coming from someone who eats soy sauce and soyabeans.

Just because phytoestrogen is structured similarly to mammal estrogen, and acts as an estrogen for plants, doesn't mean that it affects humans.
"Growing concern" is just people being worried in general, not just experts. Experts can be confident that nothing is wrong, and concern can still grow among the general populace.

Doesn't regular dairy have more estrogen than soy based products?

Also the biggest way to tank your T levels (without hormones) is by being fat

>> No.10486103

>>10485885
There's lots of studies on soy. Soy consumption has been linked to altered menustral cycles, and I believe the CDC (?) recommends that pregnant mothers reduce soy consumption. Estrogens aside, soy has a lot of 'anti-nutrients' that are removed or reduced by cooking or fermenting (tofu).

Personally, I eat tofu and don't really care if my taco bell is only 56% beef. A varied diet can correct deficiencies, as some compounds are antiestrogenic.

Dairy milk promotes excess estrogen in the body due to it containing estrogen from female cows. At the same time, milk naturally contains androgenic properties, so it raises testosterone in the body and can cause bulking quickly.

>it’s PLANT estrogen, silly, it doesn’t do anything in humans!

Soy used to be promoted as a women’s supplement because phytoestrogens remedy age-related estrogen decline. The reason soy is no longer marketed specifically towards women isn’t because science found that to be untrue - it IS true - but because why sell a product to half the population when you can sell it to the whole population?

>> No.10486582

>>10486563
The idea that soy hormones does anything is utter nonsense. Take a gander at Asia. If soy were some kind of estrogen superpower then all the women would be walking around with massive breasts whereas the opposite is far more common And age-related estrogen decline is just as much a reality there than it is elsewhere.

>>but muh pills
Just because a product is advertised doesn't mean it actually does a damn thing. In the US there used to be a "herbal breast enhancement tablet" called Bloussant. It was shut down by a class-action lawsuit & customers sent refunds after the court found it to be 100% bullshit false advertising.

Xenoestorgens are far more powerful endocrine disrupters than the phytoestrogens in soy which actually have a protective effect on gyno and breast cancer due to lowering estrogenic activity when bound to the E2 estrogen receptor compared to when estrogen binds to it.
