I fucking hate omurice, my mom is Korean so she used to make that shit all the time, it makes me nauseous.

Anything can be driven into the ground, that doesn't make it bad.

That being said I'm not a fan of brown rice. I would expect it to pair well with tangy fruit sauces and strong meat. Think lingonberry, rabbit, and brown rice.

Ugh, it's just that rice and ketchup DO NOT fuckng mix

I add a pack of Lipton onion soup to the rice and water... it’s a tasty side.

Honestly man, I just make mine the same as you'd get at any hibachi place, just brown rice, eggs, soy sauce. https://therecipecritic.com/easy-fried-rice/ is close to how I do it

Yet there are plenty of tomato and rice soups.

Sounds like the issue is using sugary grocery store shit. If I don't get distracted with something else I'll make some home-made ketchup soon and see how omurice turns out.

But I've got shit prepped for tom kha gai, home-made pizza, and home made pork-stuffed ravioli because I don't want things doing bad and it may be a busy week.

Pretty much anything you can do with white rice you can with brown rice, but don't expect the same taste.

>> No.10591921

Literally anything that can be done with white rice can be done with brown rice.
If you want to reduce its "strong" flavour, be sure to leave it soaking overnight before cooking it.
