in addition to so much food waste, it bewilders me that people dont return their cans

i regularly find beer bottles on the street in recycling areas, clearly not some drunk who was just too lazy to bring it home but neatly arranged six-packs next to their tied up cardboard and bags of shredded paper and nice little city-provided compost bin. i just take them shits and return them. i never see actual hobos do this shit so i dont feel bad about taking their gig, i think they literally only beg and probably are also on welfare or something. fuck hobos. they dont even try

what spices do you have to work with? onions, garlic, potato, tomato, bay leaf, with garbanzo and rice would be nice. id recommend some turmeric and serrano peppers (or any spicy pepper). if you could get any chicken legs, searing some and boiling with everything would flavor it very welll. or perhaps see if you could get some bones free from an butcher shop, they flavor up broth very well and are generally just tossed

this is wrong and total false economy and the person recommending it is probably a "1/3 pound is less than 1/4 pound" 56%er. buy in bulk to save on price/kg/l/serving and learn to mix it up by using different spices or cooking methods.

>And skip snacks. If you have a proper meal. You wouldn't need chips and soda
this is somewhat true but even then chips arent expensive. just ration them a little. though its also good to have cheaper but similar tasting snacks like making some garlic bread or homemade chips or something once in a while

I wonder sometimes if people are a bit masochistic about poverty food and almost get a kick out of being all 'ohh man fried woodlice AGAIN us poorfags rite?' If at any point in your life you've had enough money to buy some spices and condiments then you can eat tasty food made out of the absolute cheapest staples.
