Are there any other methods of procuring clean water available to consumers? I've heard of reverse osmosis but the only place I've been able to find one available for less than an arm and a leg was at a Starbucks I used to work at. It would be nice to cook with and drink...and not slowly kill myself doing it.

You can buy a filter at any hardware store. Costs about $30. You can also buy RO systems, starting at about $150 and going up from there.
