That's St. Louis style, and it's pretty hit and miss.

In the Chicago area some of the worst pizzerias I've ever been to (excluding shitty NY dollar slice places, of course) have been St. Louis style pizza. The crust is too burnt, too much corn meal, not enough sauce, bad cheese. Just some awful small pizzerias my family adored but I couldn't stomach.

But on the other hand, I love some places with St. Louis style of pizza.
