There's a difference between can and should anon. Anyone capable of driving can obviously drive while drunk. Doesn't mean they should. The fact is that your motor functions are impaired through even amounts of alcohol that might appear inconsequential to your person. There is no debating this. That's literally how alcohol works.

It's not worth the risk to yourself and others. Just drink some water, take a nap and fucking go to taco bell a bit later. It will still be there when you wake up.

nigger, alcohol directly fucks up your motor skills. even small amounts of alcohol have shown to slightly delay reaction times to stimuli. it doesn't matter what a person is like when alcohol's affects aren't actually different from person to person. it *always* slows your reaction times, it *always* negatively (or positively if that's what you want) affects inhibitions, and this does not change from person to person because the way in which it does this is by increasing GABA in the brain which results in these two things. what is making you think you're a fine driver is that it's simultaneously giving you dopamine hits which makes you feel great and awesome, but it makes you feel like that GABA uptake you're getting isn't doing anything to you. the dopamine is basically lying to you and saying "dude you're a great driver when you've had a couple drinks" when in reality even a couple drinks slows your reaction times measurably.

You're saying that an alcohol in withdrawl who has a few drinks to get steady will drive better than a stone sober person?

>> No.11245290

>>11245003
Alcohol *ALWAYS* depresses motor function and reaction times. The effect of alcohol is the same regardless of if you are withdrawling or not. There is no magical switch that flips when you are dependent on alcohol where somehow it stops depressing these bodily functions as much as someone who is not. You might not have the withdrawl jitters anymore, but you're also now lowering your reaction times, inhibiting your fine motor control, and removing inhibition in following traffic laws. Unless people with insane mutations exist that prevent the biological interactions that occur with alcohol this effect is universal. It doesn't matter how you *feel* because what you *feel* under alcohol is a complete illusion.
