Does anyone else find the organic fad kind of strange? Pretty much everyone has organic versions of their products now and no one questions it.
It's like companies are acknowledging "Yeah, our old shit will definitely give you cancer, but if you pay us a premium we will give you the product that we should have been offering you in the first place."
No one seems to bat an eye at this.

It literally costs more to produce organic foods. It takes longer to grow, smaller farms, smaller yields, etc. Not everyone wants to pay the price, so they sell both to appease all consumers. What’s hard to understand? Also you’re paying for taste. Non-organic is perfectly safe to eat, It just doesn’t taste as good usually.

Wtf no, that's just your confirmation bias. There are smaller yields, etc. But only because of the difficulty of growing organic, like no pesticides. Flavor has nothing to do with the price

Organic definitely tastes better.

I never said flavour was the reason for the price, I stated the reasons were because of the added costs, such as longer growth periods, smaller farms, smaller yields, etc. However the taste is the reason to justify the price. Big difference.

And yeah, it does taste better in the majority of cases. Countless blind taste tests have proven this beyond doubt.

I'd be interested to read some of those. From the blinded studies I've seen, preference is largely random from product to product. People definitely believe food tastes better when they're told it's organic though.

Organic produce is largely a meme, there's no difference and when there is, the Organic produce is usually inferior in quality.

'Organic' meats which are fed natural diets and actually allowed to wander (which isn't actually organic but 'Grass Fed' and 'Free Range') actually does taste better. Though free range itself is mostly a marketing term.

Look into what the terms actually mean, and the legal definitions. Lots of things on labels are just meaningless marketing nonsense. HORMONE FREE! No shit, all chicken in the US is hormone free by law.

Tbh I buy organic because it's more likely to be free trade and pay their workers fairly. Most US produce is picked by illegals who get ICEd before they get paid to keep prices artificially low. Also organic stores have higher quality products. Big chain stores let their produce actively rot on the shelf.

I can tell an organic egg from a free range egg from a stall egg in a blind taste 10/10 times you ultimate tastelet

just because organic is a meaningless label in the land of low food standards doesn't mean this is the case for the civilised world

That has been my experience. I've helped organize some double-blind tests of supermarket produce and our results have been all over the place. The only thing that we have found to consistently taste better for organic is bell peppers. Beyond that it's a tossup. Freshness is far more important.

When I buy produce I always examine both versions and buy whichever one looks/smells/feels the best. That seems to be roughly 50/50 split between organic and standard.

I lmao at the idiots that buy shit like organic onions, garlic, potatoes, etc. Niggas really be out here just following trends mindlessly

That's cool. Were you commissioned by the supermarket themselves or was it more general market research?

Neither. It was part of a college class. The goal was to learn about studies; we were free to pick what subject we chose was organic vs. traditional produce.
