As a person who lived on the edge of a forest and farmland, I can tell you that no amount of traps and exterminator recommendations will work. Own two cats or you will be up to your neck in meeces.

If they act like assholes you might be a shit owner. They're harder to handle than dogs. Dogs are more of a tool than cats and I've never found them to claw me or damage anything. Dogs were more maintenance intensive. Regardless you're a shit owner if you can't take care of your pet.
