is it the norm to eat with other people? When I briefly went to therapy the therapist was shocked that I didn't eat with friends and seldom ate with family. My dad usually eats watching TV and my mom eats reading a book, so I usually ate alone in my room because I hated hearing the tv while I was eating. I just chalked up her reaction to a cultural difference (I was in hong kong at the time), but this post reminded me of that. Only other person I met that liked eating alone was an Indian woman who said that it wasn't a big deal in her country.
