If you like how spays disperse you can just buy an oil spray diffuser thing and put oil in it. I had one for years that I bought off Kohls, but it died. There are probably better ones out there, but it was still less than $10, so it's not that big of a deal to buy on every 3-5 years. If your stove is dirty, then you can clean it. Razor blade is good. They also make dedicated cleaners for that purpose.

If the markings on your stove are actually worn away then you cannot do anything to bring them back.

Well it's different for everyone, but I find them to be intuitive. I worked in a kitchen as a young lad (just a simple kitchen hand, nothing fancy), and those gas stoves were annoying to clean.
