A plumbing leak in my kitchen destroyed half my ceiling, we had just finished renovating. $4000 down the shitter. Had to move in with my in laws cuz we dont have running water yet. And they have an electric stove which sucks even more.

That leb barbecue joint across from Blue and White, such good food, a genuine shame it's gone. O'Connell street is completely dead, I think it's landlords trying to squeeze rent out of a dead precinct as if it were as happening as it was 20 years ago.

Corner store take out place that sold 40s and fried bar food. It was 3 blocks from my house and open till 2am on weekends. No tables or anything but they had like 3 stools at the counter you can sit at and drink your 40 or have some shots while you waited for your food. Comfy af. Best hot wings I've ever had, and they had like 30 different sauces. Closed 4 years ago and I miss it every goddamn day. Got to know the owner, he said he closed it because he made his money and just got sick of running it. His wife and his were the only employees and it was open for like 40 years 7 days a week, so I kinda understand.

BD’s Mongolian barbecue in Bethesda Maryland. It was by far and away the best Mongolian bbq I’ve ever been to. Went there every year for my birthday until we moved away. Adult now and still trying to find one that comes close. Live in Los Angeles, but I always wanted to go back one day to go there again, but I heard it closed down.

Falafel takeaway joint that had some of the best falafel I'd ever eaten. Probably closed due to the terrible service - cash only, never had enough change, constantly fucking up orders, grumpy staff giving you the stinkeye. But I would put up with all that shit just to eat their godly falafels! I've been living in my current city for 5 years.
As soon as I walk in to the Indian place, I can hear them filling up a pitcher of water for me. I don't even order anymore, just say hello.
There's a place I frequent for breakfast where I don't have to special order what I want anymore. If I order that dish they know how to modify it for me.
I'm leaving the country and realistically I'll never live here again. It's months away and I'm already pretty bummed about it.

Search the internet for Fung Lum San Jose and you’ll find people all over various comment places commiserating over the samename airport place being shit and the sole remaining location being in Hong Kong. Apparently the kids of the family didn’t have the heart/drive/interest to keep running it, but the food was AMAZING and the decor was, to my child self, fabulous.

The Sonic about .8 miles from my house. They failed multiple health inspections and were forced to close.

Their Happy Hour drinks were unmatched. Especially with the Nerdz. RIP.

Grover's smokehouse. Best tier bbq sauce and an amazing smoked brisket meal. Closed because the owner of the lot wanted to sell the entire strip of land and the restaurant owners was given no choice but to close despite being a fairly lucrative business. I heard they were still bottling and selling their bbq in the area but i could never find it.

Great grandmother worked here, always heard about how good it was. The local Blue Circle closed down when my mom was young. Everyone talks about how it was the best depression reliever. The building now is some craft beer place I think.
