American pizza is better than Italian pizza because at least in America there are some Germans and Anglos scattered around to improve the recipe with their problem solving skills. Italy is solely low IQ Italians so naturally the pizza comes out resembling typical Italian engineering. Even pizza places run by Egyptians, Mexicans, and Greeks have improved on the Italian pizza recipe because all three demographics are actually on average higher in IQ than wops. That's just patently false. Italians simply don't eat as much cheese as "Italian-Americans" do.

Firstly, a Neapolitan pizza is much smaller, so there'd be less cheese anyway. There's even varieties (e.g. Pizza Napoletana Marinara) that use no cheese at all.
Even if you're going by proportion, the typical large-size Neapolitan pizza, using 250g of dough, will have 70g of sauce and 90g of cheese, tops.

An equivalent Domino's pizza (a size small) will use 300g of dough for the crust, 85g of sauce and a whopping 150g of cheese.

Simply put, in Italy, the cheese is meant to complement the sauce and the crust. In America, the crust is just something to hold more cheese and the sauce is an inconvenience (and possibly a vegetable.)

I had gone to Italy, Rome specifically, for 11 days for a school trip. All my life I've been eating East Indian style Canadian pizza. Western pizza mentality is more is better. All pizzas here on the west coast of British Columbia have a metric assload of cheese on it. Most of the flavor comes from the heart stopping amount of cheese, their bread is also as thick as my fucking gut. Whereas Roma pizza is a thin, almost cracker like crust. Their bread is thin, toppings are minimalistic so you can appreciate the flavor of the very thin layer of sauce. It's not as filling as western mutt pizza, but it makes up for it by having plenty of soul and flavor.
