Really good japanese restaurants will be making divinely grilled beef negamaki. Marinated in mirin and glazed in teriyaki, these stuffed rolls of pounded and tenderized filet or flank are wrapped about asparagus or spring onions and put over a hibachi until charred and caramelized sauce. Good luck finding it in most cheap sushi places, though. It's labor intensive.
