make twice baked instead. Use a fork to poke holes into medium to large potatoes, cook until you can feel they are done. Remove from oven and let cool, cut in half and scoop insides out. Put in a pot and just barely cover the potato innards with water, boil until you have a consistent mashed potato texture and add butter to your choosing. If you have a stick blender hit the mashed potatoes with it to make sure you don't have chunks. Add anything else you want to the mixed potatoes (smoked cheese, sour cream, butter, green onion or bacon all good choices). Fill the potato shells you scooped them out of with the mashed potato slightly overstuffing them, and place them into the oven on broil. Remove them when they are browned and place grated smoked cheese (I prefer smoked cheddar) and then broil again until cheese is crispy.

I'm only gonna throw in my two cents since I was born and raised in Hickville Alabama. Now that I'm older and lived in a few different places out of state I can definitely say I miss the family's thanksgiving dinner. Not to say my family is living with a lack of tech/internet; most are into making their houses smart homes. Most when it comes to cooking however depend on the old church cookbook of all the recipes by the older women, most of which aren't with us anymore god rest their souls and bless their patience for helping raise my dumbass. If they dont use the cookbook it's a family recipe taught by word of mouth, if it isn't good, you're a shit cook and aren't allowed to touch that dish again and the responsibility gets passed to a different relative. Not to say competitive but definitely gives one pressure to do well. Of course of you mess up, you're only given a bless your heart, but it's understood you will not fuck up like that again. Homemade mac and cheese and caseroles are believeable recipes to search cause Mac n Cheese had been popularized by kraft and other instant-prepare box methods that defy common ingredients people would have. Loke Mc n Cheese isn't just boiled elbows and melted cheddar. That'd be disgusting.

Who fuck is trying to make home-made jell-o though? It probably costs less to buy the actual Jell-O brand packets than the individual ingredients. Like how many people actually have gelatin powder and fruit flavorings laying around in their kitchen. It's the same kind of deal as instant Mac n Cheese except even more convoluted for your average american.

And who the fuck can't figure out how to make mashed potatos. The name of the dish is literally the recipe.
