Its hard to find a local diner near me that closes past lunch time (2-3 pm) You gotta look hard to find ones that closes later on. Is it just in NYC and NJ that the diners are open late or even 24-7 ?

Yeah, but on the other hand, if a truck loses a box of tools in the middle of Main Street, does someone stop, put them back in the box, and set them on the sidewalk so that whoever lost them can find them and pick them back up? And does that box of tools sit there for a month or more until the owner sees them and picks them up?

I bet not.

Other than Denny's, all the breakfast places near me close in the early afternoon. There was a diner in my home town that served all meals all day and was open 6AM-10PM.

I remember the first time I got drunk with my friends, we were bored at 2AM and decided to make a 3 mile trek to Denny's in the middle of winter. We didn't get back until 7:30.

I was literally gonna post Marietta Diner. I haven't been there in years but when I was a kid we went after church sometimes.
It's run by some family that has like five or six huge, massively successful local restaurants, all of which have pretty good food but they're all wildly different (diner, Italian place, high-end fish place, steakhouse, I forget the rest). Weird to see anybody mention Atlanta suburbs on here.

>A home toolkit is $20

Let me guess. Your home tookit consists of a couple of cheap screwdrivers.

Just one good quality screwdriver will run about $25 or more. One good quality standard wrench will run anywhere from $30 to $100.

Lesser quality are somewhat less expensive, but they are more prone to breaking. If you need your tools, breaking is not an option.

The last time I bought a cheap set of socket wrenches and sockets, I spent about $80 on sale and that was twenty years ago.

I had a nice local diner that was "open until we're empty" which basically meant 24/7. The owner/cook also lived in the converted upstairs so if they were ever closed you could just ring him and he''d happily cook for you.
Eventually he retired as he was closing in on 90 years old, sold the place to this hispanic waitress who promised to keep it all the same in an effort to honor his legacy and keep locals happy ( my town has under 400 permanent residents). She immediately ditched the 24/7 hours, changed the menu completely to a weird half mexican food half diner breakfast food abomination and didn't even keep the diner food recipes that everyone loved. She went out of business rather quickly and the empty building sits there to this day.

If you know the area, there are good places around where everything is bretty good. One by me is owned by Greeks.

Maybe don't be a fucking retard. How exactly would a toolkit fall out of a truck? I should have been well secured just like everything else being carried in the truck. You deserve to loose it if you care so little about it in the first place. I'm leaving Las Vegas soon (different anon) for a small town, and I'm looking forward to a slower and more pleasant environment, but you can't expect to be a total retard in cities and find your shit on the side of the road a month later. Like wtf are you even thinking.

There are four within walking distance of my house and three or four more in town. Yes, all of them are open 24/7.
In this area, the ones that are open only to the mid-afternoon aren't called diners. If they have tables, they're luncheonettes. If they only have counter/bar seating, they're lunch counters. I'm not from the US, so idk if this is nationwide or just the lingo in the part of America I live in.

I think it's an easy way to see if they don't know what they're doing. Like if they can't cook an egg, fucking run. Same thing with the bathrooms. If they're nasty and dirty, imagine what the kitchen's like.
