It's not like EW's gonna win any awards, or is a good sipping bourbon, but it's cheap and tastes fine mixed with coke or in a Manhattan or Old Fashioned. That's the main thing I use bourbon for either way.

Jim Beam is a grade above EW, although a very small one. If you like spicy with a kick, drink Evan. If you prefer a sweet corn flavor, go with JB.

Haven't had Maker's mark yet and Four Roses is just ok-ish. But I am sure both of them will get you drunk as fast as the others.

Four Roses is OK, not the best. Jim Beam is overhyped trash. Maker's Mark is decent but the price makes me go for something else like Wild Turkey 101. Evan was my go-to cheap whiskey for years but then I switched to Old Crow back in 2015. Last time I tried Evan, I could tell they had changed the recipe, so I probably won't get it again for a while. My favorite mid shelf whiskey is Knob Creek, which is funny because I know it was supposedly created by a relative of Jim Beam.

Depends where you're from. JB is the cheapest here and EW the most expensive of those. Also from what I've read online people consider EW really good for its price and say it's as good as 40 buck whiskeys, whereas people always trash JB/JD. Makers has a bit better reputation but generally it's considered inferior to EW, too.

This is the first I'm hearing of this. Where I'm from, the general consensus is that EW is a cheap version of JD, is less expensive than JB but better, and Maker's Mark is decent for the price. I wouldn't say EW is as good as $40 whiskeys though and I used to exclusively drink EW from 2012-2015. Maker's Mark is generally put on the same pedestal as other mid shelf whiskey like Wild Turkey, or Knob Creek but is generally more expensive than both.

When I grew weed with my dad we had a dude who trimmed for us, he was this big redneck toothless guy and his son had one of those gimp T. rex arms. Anyways he would take swigs out of a handle of Evan Williams and eat a whole large bag of tootsie rolls in between drinks. He didn’t even put the shit in a glass, just drank right out of the bottle. He did this everyday for multiple weeks. It was by far the most alcoholic thing I’ve ever seen and I couldn’t even imagine how insane his shits must have smelled.
