Ask your mom to turn on the stove for you. Tell her to turn on a single burner to 3 1/2 or 4. Reach your scrawny hand in the air and pick up one skillet. Put the skillet on the burner that just got turned on. Throw a half stick of butter in the skillet while it's still cool. Sprinkle salt, pepper and garlic powder over the butter. Once the butter is melted and it looks and feels hot, toss in the shrimp. Toss and turn the shrimp every few minutes. You'll know when the shrimp is done because it will look and smell done. Wa la! Now ask your mom to turn off the stove so you don't burn the house down.

Cover them in aluminum foil, then microwave them on high for 10 minutes. If it starts smoking then you know they’re cooking

bro, just do it in a pan. shrimp are borderline impossible to fuck up on a stove.

If you have to oven them, I'd guess like 375 for 8-10 minutes is sufficient. Season them with salt, garlic powder, little olive oil (or butter), little lemon juice and fresh parsley after you take them out. Easy.

But seriously, just do it stovetop, it's faster and you might as well learn if you're that much of a shitty cook.

Sometimes.

If you oven cook shrimp, just peel them, marinate them for at least two hours, and bake at high temp until just slightly firm.

Best way I like to cook them is to chop some garlic, ginger, mix well with some chillis, and then fry in a pan or wok until garlic is rather crispy, remove and place in a bowl. Toss shrimp, legs and shell, and all, in some very light dusting of flour, and then add some more oil to the pan and cook on high heat, until the tails are crispy.

Place into the garlic mix and toss until fully coated. eat the whole thing, shell and legs and all, crispy and delicious.

As has been said a good ol shrimp scampi is best. Put your shrimp in water to freshen them up, peel them. Heat up some EVOO, low-ish medium heat. Smash up some garlic, one clove per 3 shrimp is good. Put some butter in the pan and pay attention to how fast it melts; you want to make sure it's not too hot before you throw in your garlic. Browned garlic is ruined. Salt and pepper your shrimp, throw in the garlic and once it really starts smelling strong (should be about a minute) put in the shrimp. About a minute thirty later give them a flip and then pour in some white wine (pinot grigio is best for scampi IMO); don't put in too much and also make sure it's chilled and not fridge temp because if it's too cold it will mess up your pan heat level. Another minute and a half and plate the shrimp. Serve with all the oil, butter and garlic with some nice bread you can use to soak it up and of course pour a glass of the wine you used in the dish. I like to use a spoon to scoop the garlic chunks onto the bread as well. It's hard to mess this up and it's damn tasty.

This.

>Throw in a skillet with some type of oil or fat
>Wait until they turn pink.

It is one of the hardest seafoods to fuck up anon.

Don't use an oven. You will have rubbery mini-shrimp by the end unless you take pains to cover them while they cook and cut them such that they don't curl and go rubbery.

Also just don't eat fucking sea bug trash. Shrimpfags are the worst.

Yup, even I, a complete cooking moron, got it amazingly right on the first time. And yeah you're gonna make too much batter. So just fry up some veggies as well. Broccoli, carrot, and cucumber (altho water content can be an issue), are all amazing. Also cook with long chopsticks if you have them, easier to grab stuff with not too much contact to disturb the batter.

If your oven has a broiler, preheat it and marinate your shrimp at least 30mins. Then broil the shrimp a handful of minutes till basically al dente and get them out.

>> No.13952146

desu I just buy a bag of frozen cooked shrimp and defrost them in a cup of water 15 mins before I do anything with them. Infinitely easier and still taste great

take a bunch of butter, a whole lot of garlic, salt, pepperand whatever spice yo like and go to town. Just don't cook too long. Couple minutes on each side on high heat, double that on medium heat.
