Italian and French are respectable. French cuisine has a very "building blocks" approach to cooking, so you learn certain techniques and they can apply to anything. Italian is like if you wanted a high-level cuisine like French, but you also wanted to serve a filling meal to your family rather than a piece of chicken with some sauce poured over it.

The true overrated cuisine is Indian. It's bad but people say it's good. That's much worse than good cuisine whose goodness is sometimes exaggerated.

Thai Curry is way better than Indian Curry. Thai curry has a nice savory flavor that's so good that you can pour leftover sauce over rice and it'll taste good. Indian curry is too sweet and has these indescribable, but not pleasant flavors to it.

Chinese cuisine gets a lot of flak because of shit like gutter oil and bat soup but generally they have good food but I think Portuguese food is the most underrated because they have some of the most delicious food I’ve ever tasted but literally no one talks about it. Agree with anons Chinese food is pretty overrated, although I haven't had super authentic and I do want to try dim sum next time I'm in Manhattan.
