Italian and French are respectable. French cuisine has a very "building blocks" approach to cooking, so you learn certain techniques and they can apply to anything. Italian is like if you wanted a high-level cuisine like French, but you also wanted to serve a filling meal to your family rather than a piece of chicken with some sauce poured over it.

The true overrated cuisine is Indian. It's bad but people say it's good. That's much worse than good cuisine whose goodness is sometimes exaggerated.

The only good food that India has ever given is curry and naan. And even then it’s still debated whether or not India was the true origin of Curry.

Thai Curry is way better than Indian Curry. Thai curry has a nice savory flavor that's so good that you can pour leftover sauce over rice and it'll taste good. Indian curry is too sweet and has these indescribable, but not pleasant flavors to it.

And on the opposite end of the argument, what is the most underrated cuisine? I cast a vote for Portuguese food.

>> No.14111788

Literally ever other culture’s interpretation of curry is better then India’s. Thai, Portuguese, Japanese, all better recipes for Curry then India’s. You can argue that Indian curry at least has the most heat but even then I think Portuguese curry using piri piri peppers is hotter.

Chinese cuisine gets a lot of flak because of shit like gutter oil and bat soup but generally they have good food but I think Portuguese food is the most underrated because they have some of the most delicious food I’ve ever tasted but literally no one talks about it. Gotta second indian food. No texture.

French is a bit overrated as high dining but its mad underrated as simple day to day. Meat with a nice pan sauce is easy to do but fancy enough to be a significant upgrade to your dinner.

The introduction of chili peppers is by far the most important contribution Portugal has had to these cuisines. Agree with anons Chinese food is pretty overrated, although I haven't had super authentic and I do want to try dim sum next time I'm in Manhattan.

Vietnamese/Cambodian/Laos is possibly underrated in my opinion.

I’m just saying he sounds like an absolute dipshit. Vegan Thai curry is still Thai cuisine - most cuisines can have vegan options or versions, but it doesn’t have its own cuisine IMO.
