AIRFRYERS

I want to get an airfryer.

I am down to two choices. a small but very good phillips model, it's $160 marked down from $320
and a much larger Black and Decker model that's only $90 on sale

does anyone have any experience with air fryers?

I got an air fryer about 8 months ago and I use it occasionally, I only use it to make fries and wings. It's pretty great, you just put a little oil in and press the go button and you have fried food 20 to 30 min later, it doesn't splash hot oil everywhere so it's way less dangerous to use when drunk and that's a huge perk for me

Not that creep but I miss having an air fryer, and I plan on getting the air fryer lid for my 6qt Instant Pot for that reason. I have a small apartment so I prefer to save space, and with an air fryer lid I can do that but still have an air fryer around.
You can use it to heat up frozen foods as much as you can use it as your typical convection oven. Making chicken, skin-on wings is pretty cool in an air fryer, my grandmother double air fries her batches of chicken and uses very minimal oil and breading. The crispy exterior you get by doing that is pretty incredible.
Reheat leftover or frozen pizzas. Melt cheese easily on your sandwiches. It'll probably replace your toaster.

Philips TurboStar Airfryer, Avance Digital
This was the best air fryer in our lineup. It had a thinner, compact footprint and shorter stature than the other models, but it still had a roomy basket that could hold a full pound of food. This machine was easy to clean, its digital controls and dial-operated menu were intuitive to use, and it was also safe: Its drawer-like design allowed testers to remove food without exposing their hands to the heating element.

GoWISE USA 3.7-Quart 7-in-1 Air Fryer
This air fryer’s digital controls weren’t quite as intuitive as those of the Philip TurboStar, but it was still easy to program once we got the hang of it. It cooked foods quickly and crisply, and its display was bright, large, and easy to read. It’s compact enough to fit under kitchen cabinets, and its drawer-style design and automatic shutoff were a boon to safety.

Australia has some of the highest electricity prices in the world so having a lower power draw is a bigger advantage for me than people living in the states.

Air-fryers if anything are more useful than most niche kitchen tools like garlic crushers, sandwich presses, torches. It does certain things faster, easier and more efficiently. Feel free to continue hating on something you've never used.

Phillips is one of the worst brands ever. No doubt they popularized the airfryer but God damn their products barely last a year before breaking.

I've been actually considering buying one, I just want a quicker way to cook sweet potato. 30 minutes in the oven is too much fucking around for me. Would an airfryer be easier?

Too much cheese it's been a long ass time since I cooked nachos. Only took five minutes. I remember as a kid waiting ages for it to cook in a slow oven.

I wouldn't describe the food as being fried but I would describe the food as the absolute best oven cooked food I have ever had
