I'm addicted now and it feels bad dude. I smoked when I was a white trash teenager but probably hadn't touched cigarettes for a decade until last summer. I was doing a cleaning job some nights for some extra dough, and stopped by the gas station on my way there. I picked up a pack, no idea why.

That was probably around 1000+ cigarettes ago, so I'm not in super long term or anything, but I'm having a problem. I smoke Reds because they're almost always fresh since they sell so fast.

I tried:

-American Spirits Blue, thought they tasted gross, reminded me of aluminum foil
-regular filtered Camels, thought they were OK but haven't bought them again. I hear good things about wides.
-Marlboro Southern Cuts. Some people really like these, they're very sweet. I won't buy them again.
-Marlboro 83s: I don't get it. Why would someone buy these? It is cool that the logo is sideways.
-Marlboro Red Label (by accident). Just smoked these but don't have a distinct memory of them. seemed OK.

I forgot to mention too that a gas station near me was selling Chesterfields and I bought two packs of those. I thought they were pretty good, and weirdly they didn't taste "stale" or "old" like other cigarettes sometimes do, which is a surprise, because the lady told me they had been sitting on the shelf forever.

Are american lucky strikes garbage? I've heard that those are only good in Japan. There's a store near me that keeps them in stock for a single customer and I've thought about getting some, but I've never smoked an unfiltered cigarette before.

Ive tried luckies in the past, and they definitely have a toasted flavor as the branding depicts, and they are pretty decent, but unfiltered ciggs are a little too harsh for me. I always wanted to try the filtered variety, but you cannot find them anyone ive ever been.

Half a dozen properly grown plants will give you enough tobacco to last a couple years at least.

Actually it's been proven that you inhale more noxious gasses sitting in a car in traffic than you do from being around traffic while outside. If you're stopped behind a car, your car is literally sucking in that exhaust and then blowing it into your face. I don't know of any commercial brand. I've only smoked stuff I grew myself for over ten years now, so I'm not familiar with the market. It's possible people sell homegrown stuff online, but I think that's illegal. You might find some local farmer who will give you some. That's how I got my first set of seeds.

You can buy seeds online very cheaply, easily, and it's legal in most parts of the world, including the US. The downside is it takes like a year or more for the leaves to dry enough that the smoke isn't super harsh. It's also late in the season, so you'd have to start next year.
