Do you ever complain about your food?

I don't often go to restaurants etc, but whenever I have in the past with my mother, her partner, and my sister they always start talking quite loudly about what they disliked about the meal while eating it. The last time we went out my mother's partner kept making comments which were difficult to make out as being humorous or genuine complaints, and I was really embarrassed. I don't get it. Why not just eat the food? It's not like it's extremely expensive, and the complaints just seem like a way of having something to talk about or some way to assert dominance. I really don't get it.

>> No.14481596

yea it's about the same here, my mom always finds something to criticise about the food in a restaurant.
She likes to comment to the waiters as well, thinking she'll make an impact

>> No.14481606

never, unless it's legitimately bad. if something is done from a different way than what i like or im used to, it's fine. but if it's actually bad i say something. i only comment when something is overcooked, undercooked, cold, or blasted with salt

Its the same reason people like leaving Yelp reviews, or giving unsolicited advice in general. They have shit opinions and know that no one cares about them, so they have to try extra hard to show they know what they're talking about.

It has a lot to do with being dumb and have low self esteem.

I think the only thing I've ever complained about is if I order soda and their syrup is running out.
My grandmother used to take five minutes to order because she'd have to go through every option and side dish to find out if there were any ingredients she didn't like, then 90% of the time she'd find something to complain about. Made me want to crawl under the fucking table and die.

>> No.14481680

Most recent time I've complained about my food is when I received the end of a bag of fries(as in all miniscule pieces) and waitress apologized and took it off my bill. Since she was nice and handled it the right way, I added the cost to her tip.

>Do you ever complain about your food?
almost never.

On one occasion we were at a lonestar steak house and order an onion blossom, it was salty as fuck I mean beyond edible salty.

Manager walked by and asked us how everything was. We just casually mentioned that there was something wrong with the onion blossom as it was too salty. He seemed not to believe us and we said to try it, he hesitated and tried it and spit it back out. He went back to the kitchen and came back a little later and said that they had run out of batter and some moron (my words) substituted salt for flour. He comped us the appetizers.

We were cool with that.

Joking aside, I know what you mean. Referring to my mother's partner, at their age, as "my mother's boyfriend" just seems whack.

Only one time i ever blew up. It was a dinner of 5 and the waiter forgot to put in my order of medium rare steak... alright, waited a 20 minutes and asked whats up, waiter AGAIN forgot to put in my order and everyone was done eating by the time my shit was ready. By then i was fuming but trying to remain calm and everyone tells me to eat and theyll sit and talk until im done. So fucking irritating but i dig in and it was overcooked and not seasoned AT ALL. Literally flipped the fucking plate and food and it came crashing unto the floor. "motherFUCK this place" and i walked out. I was so pissed i started smoking a joint right in front of the restaurant hoping one of these motberfuckers came out and said some shit. The manager talked to and comped our party the meal and it was an awkward and intense drive back to our friend's house but thats another story.

I throw things and yell when I'm slighted too. Smoking a doobie is the way real men calm down after an intense bout of hoping someone would start a fight, and I would totally win that hypothetical fight too, cuz I would be so mad

I mean, people that work in fast food and other restaurants, are simply food prostitutes.

All food is shit. You just eat it to live. I got used to it a long time ago. What's there to complain about? You have to survive, and eating food helps you do that.

I wanna tell her these arent 5 star restaurants and the people cooking the food dont get plaid a lot and probably hate their job so you should give them a pass but shes a boomer she dont get it.

Umm, no, just no, you fucking retarded arsehole.
Most real men have what they call SELF CONTROL, that doesn't involve smoking drugs, throwing their shit on the ground in an autistic rage or just being a general pain in the arse to everyone around them.

Maybe you need to grow up, child.

I'll complain if someone asks me directly what I thought about it and it wasn't so great. I'll also complain of it's downright wretched. I don't complain to the restaurant or wait staff. I don't want a replacement with spit added, and they'll never see me again anyway since I don't make the same mistakes twice. Still, I don't think every dining experience should be a fucking open air Yelp review.

I never complain about my food. If it isnt what I expected upon ordering I dont give that business my money anymore. If everyone did that then thr employees would probably take their jobs a bit more seriously. Im not usually disappointed though. My in-laws usually complain and I feel bad for the employees. Please dont spit in my food.
