A few, all around the twin cities area
>UniDeli
Potentially the best ramen in MN, and I've tried most if not all places in the metro that specialize in it. This place is tucked inside an asian grocery store called United Noodle which is pretty expansive. Used to live close by, was great.
>Al's Breakfast
Good, but nothing super our of the ordinary as far as breakfast diners go, but its hot in demand because it has so few seats
>Psycho Suzie's Motor Lounge
Never had the food there outside of appetizers, but the tiki drinks are tasty, strong, and come in fun mugs
>The Nook
Theyre famous for their juicy lucys but I'm not a fan of those. Its good though. I once failed a hot wing eating challenge here, to eat a beer pitcher full of incredibly spicy wings in a certain amount of time
>The Blue Door Pub
Also famous for juicy lucys but I haven't had one, was fine besides
>Colossal Cafe
Pancakes are really good

Coffe Cup in Boulder City, outside of Las Vegas, by the Hoover Dam. It's actually really good. The dish he recommends, the pork chili verde, is legitimately delicious. Their other stuff is good diner/breakfast fare. Everyone I take it to seems to enjoy.

Edelweiss, a German deli in Portland, OR is a great spot. Their reuben sandwiches are fucking delicious and the selection of meats is insane. They also have a great import beer selection and their baked goods are quite good. There's an old German lady who works behind the counter and I think her only purpose is to yell at the other workers in German because I've never seen her do a damn thing but she's always there and very clearly doesn't speak a lick of English.

Wouldn't change a thing.

I like Frank's as well. Their noodles keep well even for a few days and the texture is hardly compromised. If you go to their Beaverton location they do a honey walnut shrimp with some of the biggest fuckin shrimps I've ever seen. I actually wanted more breading for a change.

I also like they're not stupid expensive for the noodles

Used to work at a restaurant featured on DDD. It was Caplansky's; a Jewish deli in Toronto, up until in closed a few years ago. Had some good select stuff, my favourite was the beef tongue sandwich and the liver and onion platter, would eat it frequently on break.

I went to Oinkster in Eagle Rock after seeing it on DDD. Actually I think I've been a few times.
Pulled pork sandwich - not my style, too much vinegar
Pastrami - pretty good, and different enough from the Hat to make it worth a try.
Reuben - awful.
Would be a pretty decent place to go to once in a while if not for the DDD tax.

Fifteen years ago... There was a dark road that meandered into the sickly heart of crime-infested Baltimore. One of the businesses on this road was a gentleman's club, lit up with gaudy neon lights and fantastic promises. During the daylight hours at the club, working class and business class men alike would stroll in and enjoy a little equality for a while: $25 lap dance/song no matter who you are. No touching the girls allowed--unless you were that one guy who had a stump of a right arm where a hand should've been; the bouncers seemed to overlook the probing reaches of that particular patron... Loud songs pumping, laser lights flashing, skimpy lingerie being dropped to the stage, the waft of cigarette smoke which lingered and twisted with the equally prevalent scent of alcohol... And when you finally left this smoldering den of hedonism and emerged into the cool night outdoors, with the music quickly fading behind you as the door shut closed... Whether you were a dancer, a DJ, or a gentleman, you appreciated what was in that tiny little run-down shack across the parking lot: Chap's Pit Beef. The lights were yellowed, the windows were fogged, the awning was faded, the order was taken by a true local with a thick Baltimore accent. Beef sandwich with an order of fries--couldn't be beat.

Apparently these guys were featured on DDD, and they exploded in popularity from there. Opened up a bunch of new places all around Maryland. Pretty cool stuff.

I went to some dump in North Carolina that had a big mural of Fieri painted on the side. The food was lame, they had actual Campbell's soup on the menu, and their big item was a giant meatball on a burger bun. I went through the abandoned bar in the back to find the restroom and found 2 of the waitresses smoking cigs and doing blow. That was a far more notable experience than the lame ass food.

>Have you ever been to a place featured on DDD? If so where and how was it?
Yes! Frankly if you even eat out well around in your own city, you've probably eaten at one. He did ssoooo many episodes.

I'll actually google states/cities from his episodes and may try to hit one of them when I am traveling. Never been disappointed actually. It's like knowing somewhere there locally who tells you the mom and pop place locals love the most. This fan website seems to have a nice quick list I turn to first:
https://www.dinersdriveinsdiveslocations.com/florida-locations.html

And then from just the name of the restaurant, you can do further research on other sites, eyeball the pictures, or comments and make a decision.

Of the Florida restaurants alone, I've probably gone to half, and some of the Miami choices are actually 4 star well respected chefs doing their comfort foods from Blue Collar to Sakaya Kitchen. I most recently did Danny's All American last, just pulled off I75 with friends on my way to a concert in Tampa. Very cute location under giant old oaks and very good food. It would be very easy to social distance there.

Unironically the best I've been to. The staff made this like the best restaurant experience I've ever had hands down. The music was good and the food was pretty damn solid for bbq. There's better bbq in KC sure but I don't think you'll find a place with better service. The waiter talked back and forth with me about bbq for the whole night and even gave me a tour of the kitchen.
