>Rice that’s grown organically takes up arsenic the same way conventional rice does, so don’t rely on organic to have less arsenic.
>You may be able to cut your exposure to inorganic arsenic in any type of rice by rinsing raw rice thoroughly before cooking, using a ratio of 6 cups water to 1 cup rice, and draining the excess water afterward. That is a traditional method of cooking rice in Asia. The modern technique of cooking rice in water that is entirely absorbed by the grains has been promoted because it allows rice to retain more of its vitamins and other nutrients. But even though you may sacrifice some of rice's nutritional value, research has shown that rinsing and using more water removes about 30 percent of the rice's inorganic arsenic content.
So yes, arsenic poisoning. People on this board seem to screech at the idea of rinsing cooking your rice pasta-method. I honesty think it's down to the arsenic in your brains.

'Murican here. Of all the types of rice I've bought, this is the only one I bother washing, simply because it's a step in the recipes I once consulted for making sushi and onigiri. While the package itself doesn't say you need to rinse it, it does advise soaking the rice for like an hour or two in water to make it more tender before cooking. Rinsing never seemed to make it lose its stickiness, so I'm unsure if leaving it unrinsed would make it difficult to work with.

Are you guys familiar with this brand and do you think it needs rinsing? Or can I save myself a little time and effort by skipping that step?

I've known this all along, but I wash my rice anyway for the exact reasons specified in the video.

I hate rice that's too sticky or clumpy, and I like them a little more separated. If I'm lazy as fuck, then yeah, I'll just put the rice into the cooker without washing it, but for the most part, it only takes 2 or 3 minutes, and it'll keep the rice from getting too sticky.

Plus, if you wash your rice, you can later use it for fried rice after leaving it in the fridge overnight. Washing away all the excess starch keeps the rice from clumping so that your fried rice will have loose, easily tossable grains while you're frying it.

if you want to make fried rice you wash your rice to remove the starch and cook a rice were each individual grain is whole and not stick to each other.

Even though the levels of Arsenic normally being pretty damn low you have to consider that it does accumulates over time not that one should be worried about it but it doesn't hurt to know and yes "washing" the rice does help to remove it although I have my doubts about how useful it would be when comparing to leaving it soaked with water overnight and doing that two or three times which would likely be enough to make the toxin levels be more or less non-existent.

With that said I haven't heard about people dying from rice poisoning even if it does happen I guess but I would wager it likely being because of other contaminants but I don't have any idea really so do not quote me on that.

Maybe you consider it paranoia, but I can't really fault people for wanting to consume less pesticides, even if it's a small amount.
