There's this café w/lunch food that several of my friends like to visit, mostly because one of my friends is extremely allergic to everything, but they know him so he feels safe to eat there, so we often end up there. There was one restaurant I was a regular at that was amazing. Chinese / Japanese food, but a Chinese family owned it and their Chinese was way better. If you went in on Thursday they'd basically just serve you family dinner if you asked for it. I tipped well every time I went and the service I got for that was amazing.

I used to exclusively eat takeout and fast food. The same places and the same orders on a 1 week rotation. Employees began to recognize me at every place. And occasionally when restaurants died, I'd find new ones to go to and continue the cycle.
For years, I ate mostly the same things on a weekly schedule. All that stopped earlier this year when things were shut down due to coronavirus. I learned to cook when I was young, but I'm lazy. When the restaurants closed, I started cooking my own food, and I just kept going once I got into the habit.
Even now that things have reopened, I've still been cooking.
I can never go back. They'd recognize me for sure, and then what would happen?
