All food is appropriation food, all food comes from the oppression of others.
Drink soylent, it's the only progressive food certified to not appropriate the culture of others. Except the coffee flavored soylent, that oppresses the brown people from the countries that coffee comes from.

>> No.15061163

>>15061081
Wrong. Soy-based foods are appropriated from cultures that originally used them-- usually asian cultures.
soy = appropriated weebshit

>>15061027
Still waiting.

>> No.15061187

>>15061018
It's for presentation.
Also, the shells add a bit of flavor to the sauce.
Scrape the mussels out and discard the shells.

gumbo is cajun, more french in origin
jambalaya is creole, more african in origin
it's all louisianan tho

i grew up in the swamps of south louisiana. this is not quite accurate. gumbo has aspects from both cajun and creole culture. also, cajun culture actually arose from the merging of acadian french and creole culture.

>> No.15061599

>>15061491
I live in acadiana and this anon is correct.. the way that most people in LA enjoy gumbo pulls aspects of both cultures. For instance, many cajuns eat their gumbo with filé but that was not originally a cajun addition, it's creole.

>> No.15062948

>appropriation food
There's no such thing.

>> No.15063092

>>15058343
There is no such thing. All food is incrementally created by everyone who has ever cooked it. If you do not desire people to cook food of other cultures, then logically you would need to ban them from eating it at all or they risk wanting to cook it themselves.
This would mean that mexican food, sushi, pizza etc would have to be made illegal in the US since they did not originate here.

>> No.15063097

>>15058343
Appropriated from who? Gumbo is the result of cultures mixing.
