What cooking shows do you watch on Youtube, /ck/?
Suggestions?

I already follow quite a few cooking shows on Youtube but I'd like to find more. Covid has me cooped up and I feel like I'm reaching the end of the internet. Tell me which ones you watch, please.

>DISQUALIFIED:
No Mukbangs, Food Reviews, Challenge Eaters, etc. Only shows where people actually cook things. If I wanted to see a fat person sweat while over-eating I'd just take a selfie.

>ACCEPTABLE:
Anything from classy to trashy (and anywhere in-between), as long as it's cooking. Some days I feel like watching a real chef. Other days I'm in the mood to laugh while watching one of the poors make souffle out of Cheetohs and Cool Whip. Variety is the spice of life.

Yes, thank you. I have. I already have decent knowledge of cooking. But as I said in OP, I'm cooped up due to COVID lockdowns.

I'm mostly watching Youtube to pass the time and sometimes to get some cooking inspiration or just a laugh. I've been watching everything cooking, from Julia Childs to the eldritch horrors of Sandra Lee.

And I AM actually learning a couple new things from some of the better Asian cuisine channels. Most of the "great classics" of culinary books are Euro-Centric = I'm not going to learn anything good about Asian food from them.

All that being said, the thread isn't just for me. Maybe another Anon will find some new things they like on Youtube in this thread ;)

I kind of hate Joshua Weissman. Not because of the annoying style or the "I know best" attitude but simply because his recipes are overly elaborate and have ingredient lists a mile long. And once you trim off all the ingredients nobody needs except to look fancy, his recipes aren't all that. I guess the best thing I can say about him is that he makes good Asian food while explaining better why what works than actual Asian cooks tend to.

Kenji and Gennaro are the GOATs. I love Kenji's food knowledge, the way he shares it and that his videos are just no nonsense, just cooking and showing how it is done. Gennaro is just the most positive person you could imagine.

Other than them I really like My Name is Andong because of his variety, being well informed and his recipes being really well fit for a fellow Western European to make and Alex French Guy because of his self aware humor and experiments.

Also a hidden gem is Kimagure Cook who is a Japanese guy who makes exclusively seafood dishes, showing how to cut and prepare all kinds of seafood, too bad his video don't always get English subs, it's really satisfying to see him cut and clean huge fish and other pieces of seafood.

One complaint I have about the level 3 chefs, though, is that their recipes don't seem like the kinds of things you'd even see in the restaraunts they work at.
